🧠 Student Placement & Levels

Students are placed according to:

  • Ability
  • Confidence
  • Maturity
Placement is not based on age alone.
This allows children to learn at a pace suited to them, without pressure or comparison.

New students may undergo a simple, informal assessment to ensure appropriate placement.

📚 Step-by-Step Learning Progression

Learning at Al-Irshād Maktab follows a clear and gradual pathway:

  • Foundations before advancement

Children progress:

  • From basic recognition to understanding

There is no rushing, and no expectation to “keep up” unnaturally.

  • Ongoing recall of duʿās, Qur’an reading, and key concepts

🌱 Tarbiyah at the Core

Tarbiyah (character-building) is woven into every aspect of the maktab. Children are guided to develop:

  • Good manners (adab) in speech and conduct
  • Patience, listening, and self-control

Correction is always approached with:

Discipline is used as guidance, not punishment.

To support holistic development, the maktab includes simple enrichment activities, integrated naturally into the program. These may include:

🗣 Speech & Expression Practice

  • Short, age-appropriate speech opportunities
  • Guided speaking to build confidence
  • Clear and respectful expression

🎵 Nasheed Learning

  • Learning nasheeds within Islamic guidelines
  • Developing voice confidence and rhythm
  • Encouraging participation and enjoyment

🤝 Group Activities

  • Small group tasks
  • Cooperative learning and teamwork
  • Learning respect, turn-taking, and support

📅 Sunnah & Adab Focus Days

On selected days, emphasis is placed on:

  • Sunnah eating manners and duʿās
  • Daily Sunnah practices
  • Cleanliness, greetings, and kindness
  • Islamic etiquette in everyday life

These are taught through reminders, discussion, and example — not enforcement.

🧩 Role-Based Tasks

Simple responsibilities may be given to students, such as:

  • Helping organise materials
  • Leading a duʿā
  • Supporting younger students
