Tajwīd Mastery Course (TMC)

About the Course

The Tajwīd Mastery Course (TMC) is designed for students who seek to recite the Qur’an correctly, beautifully, and confidently, fulfilling the rights of the letters (ḥuqūq al-ḥurūf) and preserving the prophetic method of recitation.

Now entering its third refined round, TMC includes classical tajwīd texts, a structured reading pathway, and formal certification with ijāzah pathways. The course follows a traditional pedagogy balancing theory, guided practice, and precise correction — ensuring genuine mastery rather than superficial familiarity.

Practical Correction First

Progress is built through weekly recitation, listening, and teacher correction.

Standards-Based Progression

Advancement depends on accuracy and readiness, not speed.

Classical Support

Theory is taught from authoritative texts to strengthen correct application.

  • Strong command of essential and advanced tajwīd rules
  • Confidence and fluency in Qur’ānic recitation

Teaching Methodology and Delivery

The course follows a clear sequence: practical recitation and correction first, supported by structured theory.

1) Practical Reading and Correction (Core)

Practical recitation with guided correction is the central component of the program.

Practical Reading and Correction (Flexible Attendance)

A three-session weekly window is available. Students attend any two hours per week, not all three. Once a student completes their reading and correction, they may leave.

Sessions (AEST)

  • Friday: 7:00 – 8:00 pm
  • Saturday: 7:00 – 8:00 am
  • Sunday: 7:00 – 8:00 am

Minimum requirement: attend any 2 sessions weekly.

  • Individual correction according to the student’s level
  • Progression is personalised, supervised, and standards-based

2) Theory Component (Support)

The theory class strengthens applied understanding. Attendance is optional: live participation or recordings.

  • One-hour weekly lesson covering tajwīd principles and applied rules
  • Sunday: 8:00 – 9:00 am AEST
  • Live attendance is optional; recordings are available

Attendance and Assessment

  • Weekly attendance is recorded
  • Ongoing assessment through listening and correction
  • Advancement is granted only upon meeting required standards

Progression Pathway

Students are placed according to current level. Advancement is based on accuracy, consistency, and readiness. Instruction begins with Nūrānī Qāʿidah where required.

Step 1

Nūrānī Qāʿidah

Foundational training where required before advancing to structured recitation.

Step 2

Sūrat al-Fātiḥah

Precision correction and refinement of essential rulings and articulation.

Step 3

Juz ʿAmma (Juz 30)

Fluency building with consistent correction and measurable standards.

Ijāzah Note

Ijāzah is not automatic. Only students who demonstrate mastery, consistency, and adab may pursue ijāzah, and it is granted solely upon meeting traditional scholarly standards.
